In 2025, the Salón del Gas Renovable celebrates its fifth edition, following the excellent reception by professionals during last year’s event. Organized by the Spanish Biomass Association (AVEBIOM) and with the Spanish Biogas Association (AEBIG) as technology partner, this annual meeting has become the leading platform for biogas, biomethane and other renewable gases in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.
This year’s edition will take place on October 1st and 2nd at Feria de Valladolid, with more than 250 exhibitors and over 3,600 professionals expected. Exhibiting companies will showcase the latest innovations to harness the growing business opportunities in the renewable gas sector across the Iberian Peninsula and beyond.
Why participate?
Gas demand remains high across Europe. For the renewable gas sector, the challenge is no longer market interest, but ensuring production with quality, traceability and environmental guarantees. The instability of fossil gas markets, rising prices and emission costs, and the urgency of climate commitments are all accelerating the transition.
Take the opportunity
Spain is now moving firmly to create a stable regulatory framework for renewable gases, in line with the European Green Deal, the updated National Energy and Climate Plan (PNIEC), and the EU’s goal of producing 35 bcm of biomethane by 2030. With one of the highest biomethane potentials in Europe, Spain is ready to scale up.

The total number of biomethane plants in Europe has increased from 1,548 to 1,678 between the 2024 and 2025 data collection, as showcased in the latest European Biomethane Map. 165 new plants began operation during this period, out of which already 56 plants are known to have started operation in the beginning of 2025. This net increase reflects steady expansion of a promising sustainable sector.
The European Biomethane Map is an annual publication by the European Biogas Association (EBA), and in 2025, the initiative continues with the inclusion of an open-access interactive map for the second consecutive year. This map has been developed with the valuable support of EBA members, who contributed the essential data. Both the digital and print editions of the map are the result of an ongoing collaboration between the EBA and Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE). Each country’s data sources are clearly listed on the map. The dataset reflects biomethane production facilities that were operational as of June 2025, based on the most recent information available from the EBA.

Advancing circular fertilisers: solutions for a sustainable agriculture.
Adopting circular fertilisers is essential for creating a more sustainable agricultural system. By recycling organic waste, such as manure, fish waste, and industrial by-products, circular fertilisers can decrease the EU dependence on fertilisers imports and return valuable nutrients to the soil enhancing its health and fertility.
The Sea2Land and Novafert final conference will provide insights into the innovative solutions and policy frameworks shaping the future of nutrient recycling.
A policy debate on nutrient recycling will discuss barriers and policy incentives for circular fertilisers with a focus on Sea2Land, Novafert and Nutri-Know recommendations on how regulatory frameworks can support the widespread adoption of sustainable practices and drive innovation in the agricultural sector. Parallel sessions will bring together experts and enthusiasts in the field of sustainable agriculture to explore the latest advancements in circular fertilisers.
The conference will be partially hybrid. Please note that only the plenary sessions will be live-streamed.
