Energy from citrus fruit waste: Coca-Cola invests in biogas plant

The Coca-Cola Foundation donated to the University of Catania a biogas pilot to test a set of frameworks typical of the Mediterranean area: citrus and wheat wast.

The University will use it to demonstrate this mixture’s operation in the field, unknown for the countries of northern Europe. A prototype that should inspire the twenty plants to be built to meet the needs of businesses active in the Sicilian citrus industry.
