Turning the tide: Green fuels for maritime sector
EBA has the pleasure to invite you to the Webinar ‘Turning the tide: Green fuels for the maritime sector’, taking place on 22 June from 10:00 to 11:30.
International shipping-related emissions are expected to significantly increase by 2050 if mitigation measures are not implemented. The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is engaged in reducing CO2 emissions by at least 40% by 2030 and it pursues further emissions reductions to reach savings up to 70% by 2050 compared to 2008. The EU is also planning to extend the EU ETS to the maritime sector and increase the carbon price.
In the pathway towards carbon-neutrality, alternative fuels such as bio-LNG have an untapped potential in decarbonizing the maritime transport sector and help to reach its climate goals.
According to the latest study of the Gas for Climate, the demand for bio-LNG in shipping is expected to reach around 461 TWh by 2050.
In our webinar we will outline how bio-LNG production can be scaled up, what is the political context and how it can help shipowners to reach the climate targets by 2030 and 2050.
Join us and listen to our speakers discussing the potential and deployment of the bio-LNG in the maritime sector.
