UK: Loan fund to encourage the uptake of small-scale on-farm AD plants

As of 29 April 2014, farmers wishing to construct a small-scale AD plant (generating less than 250 kilowatts of energy per year) that will utilise farm waste such as manures and slurries to produce energy, can apply to the Waste & Resources Action Programme (WRAP) – which is managing the fund on behalf of Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs).

The programme directly addresses the barriers to developing AD on farms, by helping farmers who present interest in small-scale on-farm AD plants to get access to finance, but also to case studies and other information materials.

The funding is available in England only. Check out the WRAP website for more information.
