EBA Statistical Report 2026 | Launch webinar
09.12.2026We are delighted to invite you to the launch of the 16th edition of the EBA Statistical Report, the most comprehensive analysis of Europe’s biogas and biomethane sector. This webinar will take place on the 9th of December from 10h00 to 11h00 through Zoom.

Biogas and biomethane are increasingly recognised as cornerstones of Europe’s energy future and key pillars of the continent’s energy transition. In her 2026 State of the Union Address, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen identified biomethane as a key contributor to Europe’s energy independence, alongside renewables and nuclear. This message was reinforced at European Biomethane Week 2026, where EU Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen described biomethane as a strategic European asset capable of strengthening both energy security and climate action.
Against this backdrop, this year’s Statistical Report comes at a pivotal moment for the sector, providing the latest data and insights on an industry that is already delivering tangible benefits for Europe’s energy security, competitiveness, and climate objectives.
This year’s edition explores the role of biogases in the EU energy and fertiliser landscape, while also examining market developments and the diverse end uses of biogas and biomethane. Building on this European overview, the report presents detailed profiles of 28 countries. During the webinar, selected national data will bring these findings to life and highlight the different national perspectives shaping the sector across Europe.
