Webinar: Co-designing the roadmap for biogas-to-syngas scale-up

The ēQATOR project, funded by the European Horizon programme, is developing an innovative technology that converts biogas directly into syngas using electrically heated catalytic reforming reactors. Syngas can then be used to produce renewable biomethanol and other green chemicals, unlocking new value streams for the biogas sector.

For biogas plant operators, this technology offers a promising alternative to conventional pathways such as electricity generation or biomethane upgrading, particularly for small-to-medium plants facing limited grid access or reduced subsidies.

As the project advances, we are developing a roadmap for scaling up, market uptake, and replication of the ēQATOR technology across Europe. To ensure this roadmap reflects real-world needs and opportunities, we invite key stakeholders to contribute their expertise and perspectives.This interactive webinar will bring together:

  • Biogas plant operators
  • Researchers and technology developers
  • Biogas offtakers and industrial users
  • Investors and financial experts
  • Policy makers and regulatory specialists

During this interactive session, participants will gain insights into the EQATOR technology and have the opportunity to provide expertise on its replication potential, helping to shape its future deployment. These inputs, together with responses from an external questionnaire, will inform a public report on the scale-up and replication potential of the ēQATOR technology to be published by the end of May 2026.
