EBA Activity Report 2025

The Activity Report 2025 is designed as a slide-based experience that brings EBA’s work to life. In this edition, you will find dynamic visuals, engaging graphics, and clear, easy-to-digest data that show how EBA has driven progress for biogases across Europe.

In 2025, we made significant strides in expanding the biogases sector across Europe, strengthening collaboration, raising visibility, and accelerating sustainable growth.

With our members’ support, we successfully advocated for legislative solutions at the European level. Highlights include launching the Grid Ready Forum, which brought together infrastructure companies, regulators, member states, and the European Commission to advance biomethane gas grid injection rules, and co-leading initiatives beyond the EU, such as Let Green Gas Count, promoting clarity on renewable gases in the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.

EBA also equipped members with knowledge to make informed business decisions, publishing new members-only resources like Support Schemes for Biogas and Biomethane, European Biomethane Map Analysis, and RED III Implementation Analysis, alongside regular regulatory updates, policy briefs, and newsletters.

We continued mapping sector developments, exploring opportunities for biogenic CO₂ valorisation, assessing biomethane grid injection costs, and updating key publications: EBA Statistical Report, Biomethane Map, and Biomethane Investment Outlook.

Finally, we developed practical guidance for social acceptance of biogas projects and launched a Europe-wide campaign to increase engagement, awareness, and sector visibility.
