Industry Vision for Biogases Tripartite Agreements

On 16 July 2025, the European Biogas Association (EBA) and the Support Group of the Biomethane Industrial Partnership (BIP) jointly released a strategic paper outlining the future of biogases in Europe. This vision document supports the development of Biogases Tripartite Agreements, aiming to foster collaboration between the European Commission, Member States, and industry stakeholders.

With biogases already supplying 19 bcm of renewable gas to the EU and a target of 35 bcm by 2030, the paper highlights the sector’s potential to enhance energy security, reduce emissions, and stimulate local economies. It proposes a structured framework for governance, intervention areas, and progress monitoring, and calls for coordinated action to unlock the full potential of biomethane and its co-products.
