More than 1000 new vehicles fueled by natural gas/biogas in Switzerland
In 2013, the number of vehicles powered by natural gas and biogas has increased by 10%, while the Swiss new car market fell by 6.7 percent compared to the record year of 2012.
Sales are divided among the following brands: Opel (Zafira, Tourer and Combo): 27.8%; Fiat (Panda, Punto, Doblo, Qubo, Fiorino, Ducato): 25.8% and Volkswagen (eco UP!, Caddy, Touran and Passat): 24.6%. The best selling model was the VW Caddy Ecofuel with a total of 118 units sold.
The average price paid by customers for 1 Litre of natural gas/biogas remained constant around 1.18 CHF, which is still 30% cheaper than gasoline.
