EBA comes back from two successful events in the UK and Germany

EBA took part in two stimulating international events dedicated to anaerobic digestion and promotion of the power generation: the UK AD & Biogas – World Biogas Expo 2017 and POWER-GEN Europe.

POWER-GEN Europe:

The event welcomed 8-9000 attendees from the 27th to the 29th June. The exhibition is dedicated to the promotion of the power generation. Exhibitors raised themselves the importance of contributing to green solutions (energy efficiency or use of renewables). Many equipment and engine constructors (gas turbine, CHP) and plants service (lubricants, insurance) gathered at the event.

The EBA stand ensured the visibility for the biogas sector, that otherwise would not have been covered. EBA’s presence raised good interest and received a good number of visits.

UK AD & Biogas – World Biogas Expo 2017:

On 5-6 July 2017, EBA participated in UK AD & Biogas and World Biogas Expo 2017, which took place at the NEC in Birmingham. EBA had the pleasure to exchange with its members present at the show, and discuss with participants the future of the biogas, biomethane and gasification sectors.

A stimulating international event dedicated to anaerobic digestion

More than 4,000 participants attended the event and discussed how biogas and biomethane can contribute to reach many of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through different conference, speakers demonstrated how biogas should be integrated in each country’s energy, climate change, agriculture, waste management and transport strategies. It was admitted that anaerobic digestion has a huge potential. In the UK, for example, 30% of electricity could be powered by anaerobic digestion.

CAC meeting : update on the EBA conference and Country Profile France

A Company Advisory Council (CAC) meeting was held on-site. The EBA team provided to the audience an update of the next EBA Conference, taking place on 24-26 January 2018 in Antwerp, Belgium. First confirmed speakers were presented, as well as sponsorship and exhibition opportunities. Participants were also reminded that call for abstracts for poster presentation are still open. The EBA technical team also presented its Country Profile France, a study which provides an in-depth analysis of the biogas and biomethane sectors in the country.

Video interview by Biogas Channel

Bruno Deremince from the EBA technical team was interviewed by Biogas Channel about the newly published ‘Country Profile France’. He gave an overview of the current production and consumption of biogas and biomethane in France, presented the ongoing supporting schemes and the main drivers of the sector. As per the future plans, he outlined how is France working to reach its 2020 and 2030 targets as regard biogas and biomethane.
