BIOGAS Convention 2017: great success of the international industry meeting in Nuremberg
More than 5,000 participants attended the BIOGAS Convention & Trade Fair, which took place on 12-14 December. In addition to the world’s largest biogas trade fair with 253 exhibitors, visitors to the convention used the diverse range of lectures and workshops to know more about the latest developments and potential in the industry.
Particularly popular this year was Workshop 3 “Techniques for processing and marketing of fermentation products”. “We feel very clearly that the system services of biogas technology are becoming increasingly important. The optimization of nutrient cycles in agriculture, but also in the area of the use of biowaste, are playing an increasingly important role, “says the Managing Director of the German Biogas Association, Dr. Claudius da Costa Gomez.
Even if the classic topics such as “EEG” and “tenders” are still of great interest to the operators, you can feel the change in the industry. “The sale of electricity alone will no longer allow a biogas plant to operate in the future. The issues of circular economy and diversification of agricultural production processes are becoming increasingly important, “says the association representative.
