Conference of the European Biogas Association introduces Greening Gas Award

The 4th edition of the European Biogas Association’s conference in Antwerp, Belgium, 24-26 January 2018, will see the first Greening Gas Award. With this award EBA acknowledges the theme of the conference, Greening Gas.

The 2018 conference is expected to draw more than 300 industry representatives, decision makers and researchers from Europe and beyond. The conference will consist of two full days of presentations, a poster session, exhibition and a study tour, covering topics related to biogas, syngas and biomethane production.

 “With the Greening Gas Award we wish to recognise the best achievement in renewable methane incorporation into the current business of a Distribution System Operator (DSO) or Transmission System Operator (TSO). The achievements accepted for consideration include own projects, partnerships, research, communications and dissemination work, among other”, explains Dr. Jan Štambaský, EBA President.

Other conference updates include more confirmed high-level speakers from renowned companies such as ONTRAS, DONG Energy, Gasum, Scania, BTS Biogas and Swedegas. Chemical producer BASF will be present, with a speech on the role of biomethane as chemical building block and energy in BASF. Representing the Province of Antwerp, Provincial Executive Mr. Ludwig Caluwé will provide an opening speech. Dr Štambaský noted: “We are happy to see a growing interest from major biogas stakeholders and DSOs to join our conference. The coming years we will focus more and more on innovation and industry statistics, in our programme as well as in the exhibition and poster session.”

Registrations are welcomed via the dedicated website www.biogasconference.eu. Rates start from € 250 for students and € 500 for early bird registrants, whereas EBA members can benefit from attractive discounts. Early bird rates end by October 15.

The EBA conference, organised since 2012, offers plenary and parallel sessions on technical, economic, scientific and political aspects of anaerobic digestion and gasification, followed by an optional study tour to two biogas facilities. Company experts have the opportunity to demonstrate latest developments and product opportunities at the exhibition running parallel to the main event. Members of the scientific community are also invited to take part in a poster session showing latest research and innovation topics.
