EBA welcomes latest member ENGIE!

The company becomes the 44th company member of EBA.

ENGIE operates in close to 70 countries on 5 continents. Its European representation oversees activities involving gas supply, power generation (thermal, nuclear, biomass and renewable energies), and energy management, trading, as well as marketing and sales of energy and customers services.

To ensure continuity of clean energy supplies for consumers, ENGIE is constantly diversifying its power generating base by incorporating sources of renewable energy. The company is firm on its belief that, after 2050, fossil fuels will no longer be sufficient to meet global energy demand, which is expected to double. That is why renewables have been a very important area of development for the Group for several years already, with the aim of increasing their contribution year-on-year.

The Group is the world’s largest generator of non-nuclear power, and around 50% of its electricity generation in France is from renewable sources, including biomass. The Group has no hesitation in investing in all renewable energy streams, devotes significant resources to research programs to identify new sources of renewable energy, and is committed to playing its part in developing the industry sectors of the future in, such as biomethane.
