DESCRIPTION

The EU is making efforts to support cities and communities in their transition towards greener and more sustainable ecosystems, in alignment with the climate and energy targets foreseen by the COP21. In this context, the EU has introduced new regulatory frameworks boosting circular economy (including waste to energy valorisation) and increasing the renewable energy share in Europe, such as the recast of the Renewable Energy Directive and the approval of waste package. Within the research and innovation programme Horizon 2020, the EU also set financial instruments to develop European projects aiming at developing the renewable gas and bioenergy sectors. Featuring members of the EU institutions and representatives from the industry sector, the conference will be the perfect opportunity to discuss the numerous advantages that green gas can bring to European communities and their contribution to reducing GHG emissions and promoting circular economy.
