Italy: Online public consultation on general state of biogas launched
This public consultation has been launched in order to identify some fundamentals and trends about the state of the art of the biogas sector and the main issues that accompany it.
The consultation will remain open until January 31, 2015 and the results of this consultation will be presented during the opening event of Biogas Italy. Producers, manufacturers of plants, technology developers and research bodies are invited to complete the survey form.
In 2012, Italy became the world’s third strongest country in the field of agricultural biogas, following China and Germany. The investments in this sector amounted to €4.5 billion, distributed on more than 1 000 systems at work in different agribusinesses with some 900 MWel of installed capacity. In just a few years, nearly 12 000 permanent jobs have been created in this sector, due to an extended range of activities of the biogas, from the agricultural machinery sector to seed companies and farms as well as manufacturers of biogas, components, natural gas vehicles and automotive products.
