A second Working Group also started its work on the topic of Biomethane in Transport.

Executive Board Member, Mr. Attila Kovács presented the newly established association ERGaR: European Renewable Gas Registry which was founded in September. Its function is the mass balancing of biomethane distributed along the European natural gas network. The association already counts several members: AT – AGCS Gas Clearing & Settlement AG, BE – European Biogas Association, DE – German Energy Agency (dena), Landwärme GmbH, DK – Energinet.dk, FR – GrDF, IT – Consorzio Italiano Biogas (CIB), NL – STX Services B.V., UK – Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd., CH – Swiss Association of Gas Industry (VSG), Energie 360° AG.

The CAC members received an outlook to the challenges, topics and events ahead in 2017. The EBA Policy Department will focus on the Renewable Energy Directive, Fuel Quality Directive, Energy Performance of Building Directive, Vehicles Public Procurement and Requirements for reused water in 2017. The Communications Department will be working on the updates of the Companies Catalogue and Success Stories Brochure to promote EBA members in the year 2017. The Technical and Projects Department will continue its work on the EU-wide projects BiogasAction and BIOSURF and its collaboration with high-level researchers on the topics of AD and Gasification within H2020 and EBA, Biogas economics, Collaborations for CO2 footprint of biogas and Digestate stability criteria.
