Unlike hop umbels, hop silage (residues from hop growing) cannot be used for the process of beer brewing. Producers used to store and spread it on field without energy recovery. EBA Member Schmack Biogas GmbH came with a proposal of biogas plant specifically designed for processing such fibres-rich material along with grass and corn silage.
