Publication of the Energy Union Strategy
On the 25th of March, the European Commission published its Energy Union Strategy.
The document outlines the work plan of the Commission over the coming years, including new legislative proposals, revisions and non-legislative coordination. The Commission’s vice-President Maros Šefčovič is in charge of leading this strategy and ensuring that different Commission services across several policy areas implement it. Some of the key points of the strategy include the development of the natural gas infrastructure, the development of renewable sources of energy and energy security (particularly for gas imports).
