Renewable energy conferences in Brussels

EBA participated to the European Sustainable Energy Week (ESEW), a yearly high-level conference that was organised by the European Commission in Brussels during the 3rd week of June 2015.

There were over 2,700 participants and several parallel sessions with high-level speakers including Energy Commissioner Cañete, Energy Union Vice-President Sefcovic, the Director of Renewable Energy of DG Energy along with experts from her directorate and several of the most influential MEPs active in the field of energy. This was complemented by the active participation of panellists representing international organisations, renewable energy industry, civil society and academia.

EBA was present throughout the conference, representing the anaerobic digestion and gasification sectors. The sessions focused mainly on EU policy, where senior Commission officials and Members of the European Parliament had panel discussions on the future of Europe’s Energy. EBA attended to events touching upon several sectors, including renewable energy after 2020, heating and cooling, biofuels and transport, waste to energy, energy in cities, renewable energy support and funding for energy projects. In addition to the impressive programme, the ESEW event offered the opportunity to network with key stakeholders coming from across the EU.
