SET Plan Communication
The European Commission published a new Communication on the Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan.
The SET Plan Communication from the 15th of September sets the priorities of the EU’s research and investment policy for the coming years. This is in line with the timeline of the EU’s Energy Union Strategy (published last February) and directly linked with its 5th dimension on “Research, Innovation and Competitiveness”.
Keeping in mind the EU’s 2020 and 2030 environmental commitments, the Commission proposed 10 priorities under the new SET Plan, including: priority n°2 to reduce the cost of key technologies (including biofuels and bioenergy); priority n°8 on market take up of renewable transport.
